Bayline Coaches is pleased to announce the appointment of Terry Skinner to the position of Logistics Manager. Terry started with Bayline on 20 April 2010.
Managing Director, Tony Lugg, says that Terry’s previous management experience, along with his business qualifications (diploma in logistics management and diploma in business communication) will well-equip him for the demands of this busy role. More recently, Terry held a project and contract management position for a major contract with the Manawatu District Council and welcomes the challenge of entering the passenger transport industry. Terry looks forward to the opportunities of working with a reputable, locally-owned company providing diverse services from school runs through to charters and cruise ship excursions.
Terry is currently studying toward his NZ Boatmaster Certificate and is enjoying the prospect of utilising this knowledge as he and his wife settle in Tauranga where the weather and lifestyle go hand in hand with boating and the outdoors.

The history of Bayline Coaches is highlighted in the Bay of Plenty Times on Wednesday the 31st of March 2010, in the "Celebrating our Historical Region & Business Success" feature. Bayline started in 1919 with one man and a Model T Ford which seated 12 passengers, travelling between central Tauranga and Gate Pa. Today the owners of more than 20 years are Tony and Helen Lugg, who have built the business into a thriving local company. We currently have 114 vehicles in the fleet, ranging from 11 to 61 seats, and employ dozens of employees as drivers, workshop and office staff. Check out the business profile here or contact Bayline for more information on 07 578 3113.

| New Environmentally Friendly Coaches |
29 Aug 07 |
Bayline has added nine new coaches to its fleet of 113. These buses have been built by Kiwi Bus Builders to be environmentally friendly. With Hino engines, they comply with the strict requirements of the Euro 3 emission standard. Bayline is also Green Globe 21 benchmarked and we hope to achieve full accreditation by the end of the year.
Looking after the environment has always been a priority for Bayline.
“We’re committed to buying brand new buses rather than replacing with second-hand ones, as we don’t believe they are in the best interest of the environment. We’ve got such a beautiful environment and we want to do our part to ensure we operate as friendly as possible to the environment,” says managing director Tony Lugg.
The new buses are already operating as school buses and sports coaches. With 50 cruise ships expected to visit Tauranga in the coming season, Bayline is gearing up to meet the needs of this growing market. The new coaches for the tourism market all have high quality specifications, including air conditioning and DVD movie screens.
